Day 2

I am positively giddy with excitement. I’ve met so many nice people today! And also the weather is gorgeous: sunny and cloudless and in the mid-60s.

I just met one of the girls in my program, Léa, who is originally from Geneva but goes to Boston College. Right now I’m sitting on my balcony waiting for her to text me about getting our bus passes together.

This morning also I met the girl who lives in the room next to me. Marlon, I think her name is? When we bumped into each other in the hall, she had just gotten off an overnight bus and was about to take a nap, so I didn’t get to talk to her much. Things I learned from our 30-second convo while brushing our teeth: She’s about my age, is from the Netherlands, and has been here since February. She works for a Groupon office here. Said she doesn’t love her job but loves that it enables her to be in Buenos Aires. She’ll be here til July.

Today I also met Paula, one of my program coordinators. She turned out to be super cute and friendly, and maybe 8 or 10 years older than me. She met Léa and me at a coffeeshop near my house and gave us an orientation with all sorts of maps and info sheets. I have my phone now, too! It’s an adorable little go-phone that I love for no logical reason.

Lea just texted me! I’m off again!
